Anton got asked to participate in a Grill-Off at a new Kitchen and Bath Store near us. Styles. NOT your Bed, Bath, and Beyond type of place, they do interiors with style. Everything from a colour-changing countertop to a fireplace over your bathtub. And toilets that darn near do everything for you…..

Anton started out with a Greek salad made with tomatoes, onions, cucumber, kalamata olives, and goat cheese from our local goat lady at Avalanche Cheese Company. Her cheeses are AMAZING. If you are ever in the Aspen Valley area, get some!
No dressing needed, as the cheese and olive mixture make a perfect dressing by themselves.

Anton got to cook on this beautiful brand-new Napoleon grill, which was also included in their silent auction. I loved the wavy grill surface!
Anton had pre-cooked the potatoes in heavily salted water and then added rosemary to them before letting them sit in the fridge overnight and then throwing them on the grill.
The lamb was marinated in lemon juice, salt, fresh oregano, and garlic for a couple of hours before grilling. It was SO good! I was really glad that he had grilled one kebab at home before we left to taste test it. I think he got one piece. I ate the rest!

A last minute inclusion was this fabulous chantrelle mushroom sauce that got served on the side. I didn’t get a taste of this, though I hear it was great….

We had such a line that I never got to photograph any of the finished product. It was plated and gone before I had the chance!

Our next-door neighbour to the right was serving a wonderful lemongrass shrimp with greens topped with pickled beets.

They were very photogenic, as well as extremely tasty!

The winner of the Grill-Off was our neighbour on the left, a quiet, unassuming guy with a delicious melt-in-your-mouth beef brisket on a baguette with wasabi sauce. Congratulations! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo, although I DID get a sample. There were six contestants in all, and I didn’t get the chance to try everything. Anton got second place and we were very excited!

This countertop was really fun; I think it would be great at an outdoor bar area. The kids would be riveted for hours.
Jamie, the owner of our fave restaurant Smoke, was passing out yummy snacks from the restaurant here.( Not the lady in the picture. He was off at the restaurant getting more food!)

I liked the mini-fireplace over the tub!
No, I did not take pictures of the toilet.

This mini-kitchen had EVERYTHING in it and was only as wide as Anton’s arms could reach. Really fun and perfect for enthusiastic foodies stuck in small spaces.
Yes, even the coffee/espresso maker!

Now we are taking out of town visitors here! A mini modern museum of kitchen art.
